Transfiguration coloring page: August 6th

August 6, 2013August, Coloring, Saints Coloring Standard

The Feast of the Transfiguration commemorates Jesus’ transfiguration in the New Testament.

The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke tell the story of the Transfiguration. Jesus, Peter, John, and James were on a mountain when Jesus became illuminated with rays of light. His face shone and his garments turned as white as snow. The prophets Moses and Elijah also appeared on the mountain and spoke with Jesus. The event gave the apostles a foretaste of the glory and beauty of Heaven, while showing that Jesus truly was the divine Son of God.  In 2002 , Pope John Paul II made the Transfiguration the 4th Luminous mystery of the rosary.
