Saint Ambrose coloring page: December 7th

December 1, 2012Coloring, December, Saints Coloring Standard

At a young age, Saint Ambrose ended his successful career as a lawyer and became a bishop. About that time, the Arian heresy was spreading. This heresy denied the divinity of Christ. The faithful Catholics agains Arianism wanted Ambrose for their bishop, even though at that time, he was not yet a baptized Christian! After refusing the position and even hiding from the people, Ambrose finally accepted. As bishop of Milan, Ambrose fought Arianism feverishly. He also gave everything he had to the poor and dedicated himself to caring for them. Another interesting fact about Ambrose is that he baptized St. Augustine! Ambrose was the first Doctor of the Church.
