Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart fruit arrangement

June 25, 2014June, Recipes Standard

sacred heart fruitFruit and cookie cutters are all you need to make this edible arrangement for the Feast of the Sacred Heart!

You will need:

  • a Christmas tree cookie cutter
  • a cross cookie cutter
  • a heart cookie cutter
  • a sharp knife
  • 1 watermelon (any size)
  • 1 mango
  • a handful of blueberries
  • a handful of small strawberries
  • 1 nectarine
  • a handful of pretzels

Begin by cutting thick slices of watermelon. Then use your cookie cutter to create the two hearts.

To create the flames for the hearts, use your Christmas tree cookie cutter on slices of nectarine. Cut the bottoms of the trees with the heart cookie cutter so that they will fit perfectly on top of the hearts.

We decorated the Immaculate Heart with a “crown” of blueberries and strawberries.

The sword piercing Mary’s heart is a mango cross, cut at the bottom, and inserted into the watermelon heart.

Break your pretzels into small pieces to create a crown of thorns on the Sacred Heart.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
