Ascension pull tab paper craft

May 22, 2014Activities, Biblical Coloring Pages, Coloring, Crafts Standard

The feast of the Ascension is right around the corner!

Here is a hands-on activity perfect for teaching and remembering the Ascension.

Begin by printing our template.

Color the images on the pages. On the first page, cut along the dotted lines and remove those rectangles.

Next, carefully cut out both Christ and the rectangle from the second page.

So far, your project should look like this:

Next, apply glue to the edges of a blank piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Place the first page on top of this blank sheet, lining up the edges. Press firmly to join the two pages together.

Using a small amount of glue, attach Christ to the long strip of paper. You should attach only His feet to the bottom of the rectangle.

We also glued popsicle sticks to the back of the rectangle. This made the piece sturdier and helps it slide more easily along the page.

Allow this piece to dry completely. Once it is dry, you can add Christ to your picture. Carefully guide the long strip of paper up the first page and through the small rectangle at the top.

When you pull up on the tab at the top of the page, you will see Christ ascending into Heaven!
