9 Month Novena for Impossible Requests

March 24, 2015March, Prayers Standard

This Annunciation Novena, more commonly referred to as the “Novena for Impossible Requests,”  begins on the Feast of the Annunciation (March 25th) and ends nine months later, on Christmas Day (December 25th).

the annunciation
Traditionally, one prays this novena every day (throughout the nine months) for three personal requests.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V – Pray for us, most holy mother of God.

R – That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Virgin of the Incarnation, a thousand times we greet thee, a thousand times we praise thee for thy joy you had when God was incarnated in you. Because you are so powerful a Virgin and Mother of God, grant what we ask of thee for the love of God.

Here state your first request.

Repeat the above prayers and then state your second request, repeat once more and state your third request.

Conclude by praying the following prayers one time:

Remember, O most Gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, my mother. To thee do I cry, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, sinners, now, and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Blessed and praised be the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar, in Heaven, on earth and everywhere.

Amen.

    Hi Marette,

The above “Impossible Requests” novena is one of our favorites. You can also visit http://www.praymorenovenas.com/ and sign up for the “novena reminder” which sends you an email every time a new novena begins.

This past November 2015, my husband of 6 years came back from his first year long military deployment, completely moved out of our house, filed for divorce without any closure/explanation, and zero communication. I miss David very much. Please pray David will quickly come home so we can start our restored marriage and start a family. Please pray God will touch/heal his heart and save him. Will you please pray with me to save our marriage?

Thank you and God Bless,

Renae

Rae M. May 28, 2017 at 12:52 am -

is it ok if i start late? but i will still follow through the prayer for nine months – like, today may 28 and then i’ll end at feb 28

    Ann May 30, 2017 at 5:18 pm -

    Hi Rae,
Yes, I’m sure this is alright! I think our Lord is pleased by prayers and would probably rather have the novena “offset” a bit rather than no novena at all! 🙂

    In Christ’s love,
    Ann from the Catholic Playground
