Stations of the Cross Booklet

March 2, 2014April, Coloring, February, Lent, March, Stations of the Cross Standard

One of the most common suggestions and requests we receive is for coloring pages that are more suited to little hands.

This Lent, we are excited to offer our first mini coloring booklet!

little stations of the cross booklet

Our booklet features our Stations of the Cross coloring pages- now in 1/4 page size!

Click the image to print the sheets.

stations of the cross booklet

To print the sheets, you will need to set your printer settings to double-sided and follow the instructions. The sheets will print out with 4 stations per side.

little stations of the cross booklet

Simply cut the pages in half horizontally…

…then put the pages in order! It’s that easy 🙂

We recommend stapling the pages together for easier coloring and to keep the book in order.

This is a great way to introduce your children to the Stations! We’ve found that children love to lead prayers. Let your young ones lead Stations this Lent, using their booklets and adding an Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be to each Station, or any other prayers you choose to say.

Theresa Kearney February 16, 2015 at 1:26 pm -

The pictures are perfect! For little children, I would prefer NOT using Roman Numerals, and using a more readable, kid-friendly font. Thanks!

    Gemma February 17, 2015 at 4:05 pm -

Thanks for the comment and suggestion, Theresa! We chose to use Roman numerals in our children’s station booklet to resemble stations a child might see in church or in an adult stations booklet.

    God bless,

I used these stations at the nursing home. They were small enough and large enough to read and easy to hold for the residents. We did not color the pages. The graphics were clear and bold enough. Thank you so much. It made our job easier and inexpensive.

You’re welcome, Mary Anne! We were very excited to see your comment and are thrilled to hear the booklets were used at the nursing home. Thanks for leaving a comment to let us know!

Sharon March 15, 2015 at 8:39 pm -

I love this and want to print it out for my students…. I cannot get it to print in 1/4 page size. Mine is coming-out very tiny.. any suggestions?

    Ann March 16, 2015 at 9:35 pm -

    Hi Sharon,
The Stations of the Cross booklet should already be 1/4 sized; there’s no need to adjust the printer settings. Just make sure it’s set to print double-sided. The pages will print four images to a page so that the finished product is roughly 4.25″ by 5.5″. Hope this helps!

Sue Watson February 3, 2016 at 11:10 am -

Hi I don’t have the double sided option on my home printer. Is it possible to print out anyway and assemble ? Would love this for Catechism class. Thank you

    Ann February 3, 2016 at 2:59 pm -

    Hi Sue,
Yes, it’s still possible to print double sided. You may have to feed the paper manually to do this (ie print page one, feed it back in to print page two). Also, some browsers have the double sided option that gives instructions on how to feed the paper manually. Hope this helps!

Lumen Christi Catholic School February 11, 2016 at 10:01 am -

These are perfect for our younger students to use, both to learn about the stations in the class room and during the stations in lieu of the “just word” stations the older students are using. Thank you that they were ready for printing as we didn’t think of this until the last minute.

    Ann February 11, 2016 at 5:54 pm -

You’re welcome! We’re always happy to hear our stations are helpful to teachers and parents working in classrooms!

Virginia February 25, 2016 at 5:18 pm -

HI there! Thanks so much for putting this together! I got really excited about sharing this with the kids in my classroom but have already spent about two hours trying to print it and it doesn’t come out right. Is there any chance you can email me the PDF_ Thanks in advance!

    Ann February 26, 2016 at 12:37 pm -

    Hi Virginia,
Thanks for your feedback! What seems to be the problem with the printing? The booklet has been designed so that all you need to do is select “double-sided printing”. Many printers will literally print on both sides of the page, but older printers will print half the pages and then give instructions on how to feed the paper back in.

We would definitely like to help solve the problem so that your classroom is able to color the Stations! Please feel free to contact me at ann@catholicplayground.com if you have further questions or concerns.

Heather March 20, 2016 at 12:05 am -

Such a great resource thanks. The pictures are great for little ones however may I suggest an easier font to help the beginner reader ready their own stations. Thank you.

    Ann March 21, 2016 at 10:11 am -

    Hi Heather,
Thank you so much for your feedback. We really appreciate hearing from our readers because it helps us improve the content on our website.

Sometime in the near future, we are planning to release a very “simplified” Stations of the Cross booklet (with ideal fonts/wording for beginning readers, without Roman numerals, etc.) Please stay tuned. We also have an email newsletter now and we will definitely send an announcement to our subscribers when this is published.

Sheila Woodard March 24, 2016 at 10:29 pm -

I can not thank you enough for the wonderful job you have done in creating this booklet. We are doing the Outdoor Stations tomorrow and I will have it with me. I am speaking for the 12th station. We just did this a month ago for our PRP students…. and our Priest leads us weekly during Lent in the Stations. I so look forward to this each year. Station 12 always has me teary eyed and somehow or other I was just asked to do that same station. Hopefully, I can do it justice for our Special Lord.

    Ann March 29, 2016 at 12:28 pm -

    Hi Sheila,
You are so welcome! Thank you for the compliment! We are so thrilled that the Stations of the Cross booklet is being used to increase a love for Christ in others! Thanks for sharing!

I teach Sunday School in an Episcopal church and I’m always seeking materials on a budget. I”m thrilled with the free printable stations of the cross pages. These will be used in our new chapel we’re working on for next year. I will definitely be coming back to purchase some materials when our budget gets a little bigger.

    Hi Hilary!
Thanks so much for visiting and leaving us a message! We love to hear from our readers and we are so happy that these images of Our Lord’s Passion have helped with your Sunday school lessons! TG March 5, 2017 at 4:46 pm -

Hello,
I am trying to print this for my kids – it looks awesome! – but the page says I need the latest adobe and even after I download that it will not show the pages to download. Please help!

    Ann March 10, 2017 at 4:10 pm -

    Hi TG,
Thanks for your comment! Computers can be temperamental sometimes, can’t they? What I would recommend doing is restarting your computer and try printing again. If that doesn’t work, try printing from a new browser (for example, if you are viewing the website in Internet Explorer, pull up the page in Chrome, Firefox, or Safari and try printing from there). Hope this helps!

    In Christ’s love,
    Ann from the Catholic Playground
